API in Caen, France: French Language and Culture summer
Description
This program is designed to provide students with the necessary language tools of an immediate immersion into French civilization and way of life, and to enable them to gain a sufficient autonomy in a various range of communication situations. Students have 20 hours of language training each week for 3 weeks for a total of 60 contact hours, or 4 U.S. semester credits.Students undergo 3 hours of language instruction every morning, Monday through Friday, focusing on grammatical structure, vocabulary enrichment, and oral comprehension and expression. This is supplemented by three weekly sessions from 2-4pm focusing on phonetics and thematic workshops. Cultural activities and excursions will take place on free afternoons and weekends to enhance the learning experience.
